Report and Copyright
Last updated 3 November 2026
In danger right now? If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number first. We can help with what happens in the game, but we are not an emergency service.
Report a player or content
There is no report button in the game yet, so please write to us. This address is open to anyone, whether you play or not.
Email: toni.lukkaroinen@gmail.com. To help us act, please include:
- why you think the content is illegal or breaks the Community Rules;
- exactly where it is: player name, coordinates or place, date and time;
- your name and email address, though you can leave these out if you are reporting child sexual abuse material or similar offences;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the report is accurate and complete.
Never send images of child sexual abuse, even as evidence. Describe where it is, and report it to the police or a national hotline such as those listed at INHOPE.
What happens next
- We confirm that we got your report, if you gave us a way to reach you.
- A person looks at it, carefully and without bias, and as quickly as the seriousness calls for. No automated system decides reports.
- We tell you what we decided and how you can seek a remedy.
- If we act against a player, we tell them why as described in the Community Rules. We do not give them your details unless the law requires it.
- If we suspect a crime that threatens someone's life or safety, we tell the authorities.
Copyright: notices and counter-notices
If you think something in Hiili infringes your copyright, send a notice to our copyright agent, Toni Lukkaroinen, Finland, toni.lukkaroinen@gmail.com. Under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, a notice must include:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- identification of the copyrighted work;
- identification of the infringing material and where it is, such as the player name and coordinates;
- your address, telephone number and email address;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or are authorised to act for the owner.
Counter-notice. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, send us: your signature; what was removed and where it was; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address and telephone number; and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district in the US (or, if you are outside the US, any district where we can be found), and to accept service from the person who sent the notice. We may restore the content 10 to 14 business days later, unless they tell us they have gone to court.
We ban accounts that repeatedly infringe. Knowingly false notices or counter-notices can make you liable for damages.
Authorities
Authorities in EU Member States, the European Commission and the European Board for Digital Services, and other authorities with a valid legal request, can contact us at toni.lukkaroinen@gmail.com in English or Finnish. We check every request before we answer, and disclose only what the law requires.
